Oniel Lewis, age 34, of Hartford, was arrested on Sunday, Feb. 7, for the Saturday, Oct. 31, killing of Bryan Monroe, age 48, of Manchester, said Hartford Police Lt. Aaron Boisvert.

Monroe was found when patrol officers were dispatched to 194 Maple Ave., on the report of a person stabbed. Upon arrival, Monroe was found with multiple stab wounds, Boisvert said.

He was transported to Hartford Hospital for treatment and succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

On Feb. 07, Major Crimes Division investigators established probable cause and obtained an arrest warrant based on information obtained from patrol officers, witness interviews, and surveillance video, Boisvert said.

Lewis, who had been taken into custody in relation to a separate incident, was charged with one count of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

He is being held on a $1 million bail.
